David, > "I couldn't disagree with you more about Amiga WordPerfect." < Yes you could have. You could have NOT conceded the point that no other Amiga word processing package shares its potential power. 😎 The Amiga port could have been better and would have been better if we got the 5.0 upgrade. But even in its current 4.12 incarnation, I feel it is vastly superior to any other current Amiga word processor. I don't know when you stopped using WP, but it hasn't been buggy since I started using it in 1988. The first few releases of Pagestream were extremely buggy, but the bugs were fixed and it continues to sell today. The funny thing is that a WP Corp. rep also appeared at a user's group meeting in New York and he didn't receive complaints, but only praise for the product. So I don't see how you can say that you "*know*" that people stopped buying Amiga WP because word got out that it was flakey. I don't think anyone can "know" for sure why it didn't sell. We had opposite experiences at our user's group meetings. Also, many people, including software developers, have stated that you can't charge as high a price for Amiga software as you can for MS-DOS software, so it's not just my opinion. As far as the magazine articles are concerned, it wasn't just the editors who consistently picked WordPerfect as the #1 Amiga word processor, but the readers as well, and the readers are the users of the product. How could so many people consistently pick it as the best, if it was as bad as you say? So I guess we disagree, but you're not just disagreeing me; you're disagreeing with all those who consistently rated WordPerfect as the #1 Amiga word processor.
