ProWrite still doesn't have Macros and probably never will. I think they just recently added timed-backups. We've always had both original and user-definable timed backups from the beginning, and those are just considered minor features. The problem is that many companies now don't add many features to programs because the programs have an ARexx port. I believe that the "Taking Sides" feature by Rhett Anderson and Randy Thompson in Compute's Amiga Resource once had a column on this topic. I agree with the one that said ARexx is an excuse for lazy programmers. When someone asks them to implement a feature, the programmer responds that the feature can be added via ARexx. That turns the user into the programmer. Why should I have to learn ARexx and do the programming myself every time I want a feature implemented? That's the programmer's job. The programmer should put the feature directly into the program. You can create macros in Pro Write by using ARexx, but it's definitely not the same thing as the WordPerfect macro recorder and editor. Also, the fact that WP could be more "Amigatized" is really not that important, since the mouse tends to get in the way when your hands are on the keyboard anyway. And WP is fast, too.
