Steve, A little more success. BTW – it is "wait" for 'pause and wait for string>'. Now all I need are a few more things: a command to time out (real pause) for n seconds, and the ability to "send" a carriage return character via "send". I have to go through a dialog with my terminal server, including an autobaud detect sequence. Unfortunately the CLI window that displays the dialing sequence is an output only window. Instead of a "nos-dial" file and an output only CLI window, I would REALLY prefer an input/output window which would let ME directly enter the data and commands that I needed to complete whatever connection dialog is necessary, then enter a command to terminate the modem connection window (this is how some other MS-DOS based TCP/IP products work).
