There you have it. The most amazing thing I found about this computer
(A3000) is that you CAN download files (Via AutoPilot), and while that is
going on, I can pop off and do some financial work, prepare reports on the
word processor, browse DISTANT SUNS, or whatever, and I don't need to
worry about disk access problems or system lockups, or even slowdowns.
This is a perfect example of a bad C= decision. I'm sure the engineers who
designed the computer foresaw this problem, but I guess it was deemed an
acceptable compromise when put against the savings in cost.
There is no excuse for a top-of-the-line computer, let alone a
multi-tasking multimedia computer, to be equipped with IDE, especially
since SCSI was introduced as standard a couple years ago. Sometimes, I
wonder how they come up with these things.
