AGA emulating boards
Because of the incresing number of new graphic hardware I would like
to ask the users of those boards, or anyone who knows about their
compatibility.
There are now quite a lot boards with AGA-Emulation: Retina,
PicassoII, Merlin2, and maybe some others. I would like to know at
which level do they emulate it, and how well it is implemented. This
should be interesting for several people, so I will gather all the
results you post here, and send them again to this forum.
The reason why I ask this, is because there already are many programs
out there, which use the new AGA chipset, but as we all know, this
isn't available for older Amigas. While software that really uses a
24bit graphics boards is still rare, it would be good to be able to
use AGA programs on, for example, an A2000.
So if you have one of those AGA Boards in an "old" Amiga, tell me
which AGA programs run, which don't, and what other limitations, if
any, there are (I think HAM8 will be hard to emulate). Also it
would be interesting if any of those AGA games work. While I think
it would be quite impossible for an auto-booting game, there might
be a chance for HardDisk installable games, but all depends on
the way the AGA emulation works, and how well the program is
written.
