What about the Win32s API. I have Fractal Design Painter 2.0 and under Win 3.1 it breaks out of the 16M/16bit barrier. It'll use as much memory as you have. It may not be as effecient or stable as OS/2 but there are a lot more available apps. I love being able to mix and match the best tools for the job. For a recent flyer I did for my band I used Imagine to render the base image, Adobe Type Align for the text, Painter to bring it all together, and ZSoft Photofinish to proof the rendered image and convert from 24bit to grayscale. I don't have to tell you which one wasn't loaded simultaneously. I don't think I'm alone when I say that I would be willing to give up some render speed to be able to play Sim City while I'm waiting (assuming the liberal use of "DoEvents" in the render code). One option might be a Windows version for modeling, setting up and proofing the work and a high speed DOS version once everything is done and your ready to render away for a couple of days. Just some thoughts
