Interesting, must be a systematic failure. I've got a DMI external floptical
drive and it can screech REALLY noisily. From what I can tell, it's the fan in
the power supply. Guess it's bearings are too loose. Fortunately, it only goes
into screech mode if the box is bumped, so I don't bump into it :-).
