(oh, oh, I hear a manufacturer's pitch coming on – those of you who get offended by these please skip to the next message!) We wrote some programs exactly for this purpose! One of our "Action IPAS" libraries, 'Utilities', solves this exact problem, and a few more! One of the programs in it is "WhatTGA.exe", which will check all the targa files in a directory for integrity, consistency, format, size, aspect ratio, and more! All command line switches, even verifies that all the files are there! The set has been shipping since Siggraph in August. Also included in the library: 2) WhatJPEG.exe does the same as WhatTGA but for JPEG files. 3) HBLUR.IXP does horizontal softening (like VBLUR does vertically) but can be used with field rendered files. 4) Thermo.IXP adjusts the overall color temperature of your images by making them 'warmer' or 'cooler'. 5) BrtCon.IXP will adjust the brightness or contrast of your images of those you rotoscope in from live video. 6) DeField.IXP will take images that have been field rendered and remove the fields, but average the remaining lines so as not to lose the resolution. A 'must-have' for anyone who does rotoscoping! 7) Legal.IXP takes all your images and makes sure that all your colors are legal for video, and has an option to either correct them or mark them for you to see. You can assign any color to the illegal colors (instead of just black, which may not be noticable with a black background.) 8) JPEG.IXP saves your Release 2 images out to JPEG compressed files like Release 3 does now.
