I haven't seen the mini-disk yet, but from what I hear, it's not all what it's cracked up to be… The sound quality isn't as good as we've come to expect with CD's and DAT. The new minidisks use compression to get that kind of storage, and with compression you get loss of signal. (In this case anyway.) The only writable CDRom drives that I've seen are HUGELY expensive for the storage that you get.
