If you want dithering in the rendered image itself, it seems you will
need to use an IPAS routine. Yes something could be done in the
driver, but the image would be a lie. When you tried to output the
image to a device other than the screen, you would again see the
banding. You aren't the first to ask the question though. Anyone
want to work with us on an IPAS for this???
