hey Joe we did the same thing in painting studio in high school at
Kingswood (Cranbrook) and then at Banff Summer workshops – a big
chart with the color spectrum across the chart, white on top and
black on the bottom and you had to go down in 22 squares from white
to black in each hue mixing the opposite on the wheel,one you could
use white another you had to layer the raw hue over the white of the
paper and the value had to be equal across the hues at each step. I
think Charles Itten, started this stuff at the Bauhaus, then it got
carried to new york thru Albers, i think thats who showed these
studies to my painting teacher in Banff. I still have Itten's books
on my shelf.
…when i first got r2 all i did was play with saturation and
brightness in the mat ed. for a week….then there's photoshop and
photostyler color charts-they get their charts perfect everytime!!
pss. you went to Engineering AND Architecture School? im jealous.
