You'd be selling yourself short if you didn't try some different media in art. Computers are just another means to an end, and no more valid or invalid than any other medium, and there is nothing like variety for lighting the creative fire and inspiring artists to do things a little different than the next guy. Although there is a learning curve involved with all new media, you don't have to be great at it. It could inspire you to try new and radical things on the computer that you hadn't thought of before. The mind is a strange thing… But, depending on where you live, you'd be able to find computer art courses. Here in San Francisco there are several excellent electronic art foundations that teach courses. I know that my art school education has given me some advantages that people who come strictly from the computer world don't have, so I think you're right in wanting to learn more about the craft.
