I think you're absolutely correct about employers being more apt to
teach computers than art. I think it's also much easier. Teaching
someone a software package or three is much easier and quicker than
teaching art theory, history, composition etc. There's so much more
to being artistic. Even a non-creative person can learn to use
software. I don't think the opposite is true. Artistic people are,
for the most part, born with an intrinsic artistic ability and are
taught more how to express that ability than the actual ability
itself. I would love to take some art classes myself and plan on
doing so in the near future.
