Well, I am LONG overdue in posting this, but here it is finally: Autodesk LEARNING RESOURCE SERIES SUCCESS CAUSES EXPANSIONS =========================================================== The success of the Learning Resource Series and the continuous need to expand the Series to meet the demand for material based on new software products such as ADE, AutoCAD LT, AutoVision and AutoSurf is another example of the continuing list of good news from Autodesk Learning Systems Group (LSG). Until recently, the significant task of producing the LRS so suucessfully has, in large part, been handled by Kirtsen Rasmussen and Milt McGrew, prior to his joining LSG where he is now the manager of Instructor Development programs. As mentioned, the task is now much larger and it has the potential to grow very quickly in the coming months. To deal with the growing responsibilities of LRS I am extremely pleased to let you know of some recent changes. Kirsten Rasmussen was SO keen on taking more of this responsibility (therapy is underway) that she has picked up her entire family and moved them from Minnesota back to sunny California! It seemed that the least we could do was give her more and I am pleased to tell you all that Kirsten has accepted the promotion to position of full time(ask her!) LRS Operations Manager. Kirsten brings an enormous set of skills with her to this job and I can not imagine finding anyone better suited to the task at hand. Complimenting Kirsten's skill set, and to help deal with the technical editing and coordinate beta testing of material currently in production and future projects, I have asked Phil Dollan to take on those duties in addition to his role as Chair of the ETS group. In a weak moment during AutoDesk University he let it slip that he had a few spare hours each week. and he didn't know what to do with them!. I offered Phil a solution to that "problem" and he has agreed to take on the role of Learning Resource Series Technical Editor. The primary responsibilities will be to oversee the technical integrity and quality of the Learning Resource Series product being developed and to collaborate with the authors and the materials they have produced. Effectively, Phil's role is to work with Kirsten and provide technical support for the materials. I am not sure just how it is that we are consistently able to find such talented people and then to hypnotize, errr…. uhh,….., I mean convince them to work with us, but I will not try to figure it out and just be thankfull that it has happened again TWICE with Phil and Kirsten. Phil will post a message within a couple of days explaining in more detail some of the projects currently under way and what materials may be required for future publications of LRS. Wayne PS. There are several other new faces at LSG so see the other message on this.
