An update…
I had the MSCDEX line before the path statement so it wasn't being read.
Unfortunately, when I included the complete path, I get the following after the
cuni_asp line (which is the last line) in CONFIG.SYS is read: ——
CorelDRIVER! Universal CD-ROM Device Driver Version 1.10b5 Copyright (C) Corel
Systems Corporation 1987-1992
Using ASPI SCSI host adapter interface
Subunit Code: 00 SCSI unit id: 1 LUN: 0 Invalid AUTOEXEC file name on
command line NDOS EMS swapping initialized (112K)
DOS version 6.0 NDOS, Norton Utilities (etc.)
c:\dos\MSCDEX /V /M:10 /E /D:MSCD001
—–
and at this point the computer goes off into never-neverland and I have to
reboot. There is no sign of hard drive activity. The MSCDEX line is the first
line of my AUTOEXEC.BAT file. I also tried this with the ASPI461.SYS file I
just got off the Always BBS with the same horrible results.
