I'm actually fond of the Mac, personally, but it's a real expensive love affair–and if I can do roughly the same thing in Windows, I can live with the quality compromises in exchange for being able to work, period… BTW, where are you, anyway? I assumed San Franciso for some reason, but your other post to me suggested you might be overseas. Over here at least (New York City), PowerMacs have come down in price somewhat so they're within the range of high-end normal cost, but there's still the difference in software price–though that gap's also beginning to close. As for SGI, afraid I don't know anything about it, except that a lot of people seem to be using it. Would it be hard to switch over from working on other platforms, and does it resemble either Windows or Mac OS? Could it be used w/any form of Mac or DOS personal computer, or do you need a whole new computer? Best, Tim
