Hi, For what it's worth, I had sort of similar problems with my Future Domain SCSI and a NEC CD-ROM drive. What looks like memory problems and freeze-ups is really a termination problem (SCSI interface problem) between the drive and the controller. I found this out after many days of pulling out may hair and everything in my computer. Have you tried a different SCSI device (and or resolved SCSI ID conflicts) just to see if the system works? Is the SCSI physical chain terminated properly? Does the your system work without your syquest drive attached and the ADAPTEC installed? Is the adaptec board terminated? If it is you need to UN(?)terminate it. I.E. check for all physical connection and interface problems before attacking software driver problems because the former causes the latter not to work (as well as the rest of your software).
