John, The only C-64 emulator that I have worked with is The A64 Package. It is put out by Questronix (P.O. BOX 340285 Hartford, CT 06134-0285 Phone 203-666-8260). I'm not shure but I believe they use to be contected on CIS but I don't remember the number. As far as I know there are three versions of this program. 1. The original shareware version. I got a copy from DevWare a cuople of years ago, It worked real good but didn't provide access to C-64 disks as you have to have an adapter but you could use Amiga drive to emulate C-64 drives. The adapter plugs into the parralel port and you plug the C-64 drive cable into the back of the adapter and your'e ready to go. It ran most C-64 software, it didn't like programs that had custom loaders that reprogramed the drive controlers, like GEOS. It ran on the A3000 but because of an incompatability it could not access C-64 drives, the incompatibility seemed to be A3000 specifice in that it worked fine with other Amigas that had 030 acelerators in them. This release also had support programs that let you transfer files back and forth between Amiga and C-64 drives. 2. The A64 Package V2.02. This version is not shareware. This is the version I got when I registerd. More fetures where added, they added to the avalible preference setings makeing it more user configurable and they added an A64mon program for programers who want to be able to look inside there programs and see what they are doing. They also added a user inter face to the support programs so you can run it with WB and a mouse instead of only being able to use them fron cli. This version also would not run programs with custom loaders or alow C-64 disk access on an A3000. This version can be found in the Tenex cataloge for about 40-45$ and is sold with the adapter. 3. The A64 Package V??.??. I don't know much about this one as it is not been relased yet. I was told about this one when I called Questronix a couple of weeks ago, the man I talked to said that support had been added so that it would run a some of the more asked for programs that used custom loaders, I asked about GEOS and he said that it was supported, I was also told that they had fixed the problem with the A3000 and it would now access C-64 drives. When I talked to him he said that they where having the new manuals printed and that when they came back from the printers they would be sending out fliers to the registerd owners. Hopefuly it will come soon. I have heard of an older program called GO-64 but I beleave that one of the writers of The A64 Package also worked on GO-64. // W. Clement \\// Amiga & Autopilot 8^)
