ILM
PMJI, but any film course will benefit you greatly. The principles involved in
animation are the principles of film. In animation, once you get past the
drawing, modelling, etc…, you're left with actors, a set, cameras and lights.
There are lots of basics and tricks that will benefit anyone who studies, and
these can and will be applied directly to animation on a computer.
If you're serious about film school you'll go to UCLA or USC. These are the
schools that producers watch for talent (there are probably a few others, but
there weren't when I went to film school). Other schools can teach you stuff,
but won't give you any advantage in the industry. And I'm sure UCLA and USC
have excellent computer facilities and courses, too. If film biz opportunity
and connections are less important, then you've got much greater flexibility in
choosing a school.
