#please explain..
Anyone….
Just got and loaded 3DS 3.0. (11/19/93) Set it up per the installation guide
and went through to look at the new stuff. Checked out the materials editor and
rendered out 20 or so materials. Went into the 3d editor and loaded GOLD.3DS
When I went to render I recieved the following message.
Mfree error – Validity Check Failure ptr1 – 7F38D0, Ptr2 – 7F38DA, *Ptr1 = E,
*Ptr2 = FFF9FFFF
This kicked me to a DOS screen, displayed this message at the top of the
screen. When I hit enter I was at the DOS prompt.
………………. What's the deal?
I've got a 486DX2/66, 16Meg ram, 100 MB free HD space. No tsr's.
After a reboot & a check disk….no more problem…. Do I look forward to a
future spent with such errors????
I read about the problem w/486DX2/66 machines…..is this what happens?????!!!
…Is my machine going to do this often???!!!
*******************************************************************
When I reloaded and rendered the GOLD.3DS I noticed it took 2 passes to get to
the final image. A friend with a similiar machine (with 32 meg ram) has the
exact same video card as me and it only took one pass on his machine…
….is this normal or have I done something wrong? (He has his own 3DS 3.0)
I've got a CIRRUS 5426 card and a 17" flat screen monitor. Non-interlaced.
Using the Vibrant Graphics driver set to 800 x 600 x 256. My display passed the
config test each time during set up.
I'm looking forward to some answers………..
Thanks…
