Tom, Thanks for making your situation clear. So I guess BetaCam is kind of out of the question in your particular situation, at least for the time being. I guess my next question would be whether or not you already own your Toaster system, and if you need to go with A/B roll or just get by with "Cuts" type editing. From what I can gather from your previous messages I would probably recommend that you begin looking into the used 3/4Umatic marketplace. There are plenty of decent deals to be had on this gear and the local cable company will undoubtedly have the ability to play back Umatic tapes. If you can get your hands on a couple of back issues of Video Yoaster User you will find some more specific recommendations. The June/July 93 issue has an article on page 56 on how to build a desktop video system and it has a description of the "Basic $10,000 System" that should be helpful for you. In the August/September 93 issue, there is an article on page 86 called "Buying Used & B-Stock Equipment" that gives some specifics on where and how to buy the broadcast gear you might be interested in. A good source for these back issues might be you local Video Toaster or Amiga Users group, if one exists in your area. You can also order back issues from VTU direct by calling (408) 252-0508. Frank
