Bruce, Also try this, make two spheres, make one smaller than the other, go to face mode, select all of the face of the smaller sphere. Use Make Subgroup, call in inner or in or small or what ever you will remember. Then put the smaller sphere in side of the larger one. Join the two. The new object will keep the subgroup info about the smaller sphere. IN object mode you will see that the smaller object has its name that you gave it, click on the name and then assign the particles that you want to the subgroup object. Now in the particle FX do the same thing except at the bottom of the requester for particles type in the percentage amount for emmission and then the name of the smaller sphere or subgroup, Looks very cool and almost magic.
