I always preferred working on set, once I got to know the folks in the crew it
was like some lunatic summer camp experience. I usually did on set jobs
anyway, like dolly grip, key grip, gaffer. I was in the union, so sometimes
they'd send me to the SF Opera and other theaters which was fun, too. The
theater is a whole different world, though, and pays less.
