You've already received to correct answers to your question. It's not
the software, but the hardware (along with software drivers) that
determines the limits of your display resolution. Nevertheless, you
can render to any resolution in 3ds, as long as you use a NULL driver
(in R2), or turn on the No Display button in R3. If you need a
different driver for your display board, and are using R2, I
recommend you contact Vibrant Graphics at 800/937-1711. If you're
using R3, you should look for your display board in the Vibrant
configuration menu when you first start 3ds.
