I am not familiar with TERM but maybe in absence of someone that is….
You need to set TERM to use a protocol download such as ZModem, CISB,
QuickB, or (ugh) XModem.
You also need to tell your program where it is to put downloaded files.
Many of us just create a drawer (directory) called "DOWN" on the hard
drive and then tell the terminal program that "Work:DOWN" is where files
should be placed.
If you are using ZModem, CISB or QuickB protocols it will not be necessary
to tell CIS what the filename should be when you do a download as these
particular protocols will use the same name as the file has on CIS.
You should experiment with getting everything set up by using the
"PRACTICE" forum here on CIS. This forum is free of connect time charges
(though communications network and long distance charges-if any) will
still accummulate).
As I say, I don't know the TERM program but I suspect that it has menu
choices to allow you to set all of this up. Somewhere it will have a
choice for down load protocol (or just protocol) and it will probably have
a choice for download options or preferences. Once you set up one of the
recommended protocols, you just do what you did before, tell CIS to use
the protocol that you selected in TERM. If you selected one of the
suggested protocols (ie: NOT XMODEME), then the transfer will take place
automagically.
