You can get MAC ROMs from any MAC SE/30 MAC II/IIx/or IIcx. There are MAC
repair shops that sometimes through these ROMs away as part of upgrades. You
can also call Shreve Systems (I can't remember the number)… they specialize
in selling Emplant compatible ROMs. You only need install them once, dump the
ROM image and then put them away.
With your 25Mhz 030, you would be running at the equivilant of a MAC IIci. For
the PC emulation, I am not sure yet. The 040 will definately help you in the
speed department. To properly round out your package, get a good graphics
board like the Cyberboard or the Picasso II. You will also want to make sure
you have a HD floppy drive. Another good option is to get a real MAC 800k
floppy and the UU AMIA device.
