The only thing I can tell you now is to check with Diamond or go to the OS2SUPP
forum and ask the IBM people. Since the P9K and the VGA chip have separate
registers and video memory, background execution should be a no-brainer. But
since Windows does not allow background execution of graphics apps, maybe
whoever wrote the drivers assumed they didn't have to implement this feature.
Alot of people in this industry are getting the attitude that ALL serious work
is being done exclusively with Windows or other windowing system apps and that
dos apps are just games.
