I tried removing the SET RCPADI and SET VIBCFG statements from the 3DS batch file, but it did not seem to make a difference. Here's the wierd part (all using inline Vibrant drivers): I can run Display, Materials, and Renderer all at 1024x768x256, and everything works. I can even change the Materials to 1024x768x32K. But if I change the Materials to 640x480x256 or 16.7m, it locks up. If I change Display to 640x480x256 it locks up. And, if I change Renderer to 640x480x16.7m, it will render fine, but when I return to the 3D Editor, the cursor is frozen and I have to reboot. I completely reinstalled 3DS, and tried it once with the default 640×480 VESA drivers, and everything worked. Changed ONLY the Display to 640x480x256 Vibrant Graphite Pro driver, and it locked up. I am completely stumped. Thanks again for the suggestion. BTW – I was in a store today Christmas shopping with my wife – she came over and found me staring at a clear canister of Penn tennis balls. I excitedly explained why, waving my arms and rotating the canister to talk about highlights and transparency falloff, etc. Always supportive, she smiled and suggested we move on before someone called security. Nice job, Ang!
