The main advantage that Control-L and Control-S connections have is that
they are on more products. Almost all Sony camcorders and decks, as well
as Cannon, and a few others use the control-L. But the gentleman who said
Control-M (Panasonics 5 pin) is more used is problably right, in saying
that the AG-1970 is the most used in the prosommer arena for general
editing.
