1. The Amiga has some greater versatility that other platforms lack, but nothing OUTSTANDING. The IBM PC/Clones, with Windoze, for the price offer much more than the Amiga. The Amiga shines in a few estoeric areas, but to the average everyday customer there is nothing to entice him to buy an Amiga. As far as the base of Amiga users now, how many times have we been screwed by the company? Releasing the A3000 as the 'new' machine. Then not a year later, coming out with a 'new' machine, that the older user's can't even upgrade to! Doesn't sound to me as if they really plan on keeping their customers anymore, especially in the face of so much A4000 critisizm. 2. And granted, the Amiga has a few cabailities that the others don't. But for how long? The other computer companies are not standing still. The new Power PC will have a lot of weight behind it, not to mention a price advantage. Any of the advantages that the Amiga has, are more than overcome by the plethora of software, and the price advantages in the other platforms. 3. Once companies are offered a choice, mainly by NewTech, what in the world will keep them supporting the Amiga? Nothing, that's what. With no support here in the US, what company will be crazy enough to by a machine that has these obvious faults? 4. As much as CD32 means to Europe, unless it is outstanding here in the US, Commodore's coffin will start to lower into the ground. And lets face it, Commodore has failed once again to get the machine out in time for the crucial Christmas market. All other contenders have alread gotten their stuff out on the shelves, with software to support it. Where's Commie? Who the heck knows? Unless they get CD32 out, like tomorrow, the machine is as good as dead upon arriving at the stores. And unless they have some damn fine software with it, all the great reviews in the world won't help it. I love my machine, I really do, but when it comes time to upgrade in a year or so, as far as I'm concerned Commodore is at the end of the list.
