>> I'm creating a Demo tape and would like some suggestions as to how long it
should be and what an average length per sample aught to be. <<
Mine is about three and a half minutes long. Each segment is
less than 20 seconds long, some are just a few seconds. Some short
segments are repeated so I can point something out or just to give
the eye time to capture it all. I added Rush's "Vital Signs" from
the album _Moving_Pictures_ for sound on most of it. A good swift
tempo along with great high tech-type lyrics. As I get more (and
hopefully better) stuff I'll rework it.
I've got a version that focuses more on architectural work at the
end (stills and flics), but I still make the architects sit through
the rest of the stuff. Its fairly entertaining, and I'm hoping it
makes me look more competent and worth the big bucks! <g>.
In general I'd suggest keeping the energy level up, keep it
moving, spread out your high points… start strong and end strong.
