I worked in a business environment for 4 years in Texas, and the reason I came to a $72 per hour estimate is because that is what our department charged the other departments within the building for computer graphic work. This was not only animation but *any* graphic work, slides, overheads, paper copy, etc. Our in-house rates were better than going outside for the same work. Here in Oregon (Eugene area) the rate is at about $60 per hour for quality graphic design doing something as simple as re-coloring an already existing graphic for use in a business card (at least that has been my experience). But it is true as you mention to try to keep it reasonable for the client so they do not see the need for in-house production. Thank you for your candid reply. James Franssen Imagination Station
