Hooray! I too have had similar experiences. A client was
unwilling to shell out the $ (an extremely low bid) that I asked for
a job. They found someone else to do it for less, and it sucked. Now
they are trying to sell their product with this crummy animation.
Everyone hates the quality. We've just entered a contract where I'm
getting roughly twice my original bid (I'm more "established" now),
and they have to use previews of my stuff to show customers ("uh,
this is what the new piece will look like…").
Theoretically I could have done a cheesy piece for them, but I,
like you, take pride in my work. In bigger markets it might do 3DS
and 3DSers harm if clients see 3DS output that looks shoddy. I
really sell 3DS as well as my services. My awe of the program comes
across.
