You are right, active minds are hard to track….Remember the point of the exercise is to simply gain an insight on how much time is actually spent on different projects. More than once I have done something for someone else and grabbed some of it for the ucrrent project. I just basically write down the time spent. In the course of the day I may work on 4-5 different projects. I simply keep a log of time (00:00) begin and time end. I add up the hours later. Believe me I sure don't use a stopwatch. You might also keep track of the discussion time with clients. That adds up. I have been lucky to be able to charge for that time too. Keeps the meeting shorter <g>.
