I have 3D Studio R4 on a Compaq 486/66 Eisa (Deskpro M) with a Qvision 1280 E video board and a Matrox Illuminator Pro 4MB DVE Frame Buffer. I have talked extensivly with Matrox and we are all stumped. I put the render-display to rdpapi configuration per the instructions in the Matrox manual and checked that against the instructions in the 3D Studio manuals. They concur. The board and its software drivers installed correctly also. I set the display to single screen and installed the VGA passthrough cable from the Matrox board to the Qvision board. The problem is that there is no render display when toggle to it and also the render hangs forcing a reboot. To top it off, the Windows drivers don't seem to work. I have a NEC 21 inch 6FGp monitor and the Matrox PRO OUT cable. No output when I switch to BNC connector either. Leave me a message or call me at (817) 837-2029.
