The information I got last night from Intuit says "I'm writing to you now about our new Windows version of QuickBooks because of Intuit's decision not to produce any major upgrades to QuickBooks for DOS. As you may know, the DOS market is shrinking rapidly….." Spoken like Darth Vader. I'm afraid the MS Empire has begun its evil upon Intuit's customers (jamming Windows down our throats whether we want it or not). Frankly, as an OS/2 user, I'm even more disgusted. From reports I've read, Quicken 4.0 for Windows will NOT work under OS/2. I'm suspecting that the same will be the case for QuickBooks. Since Intuit has not responded to requests for clarification of whether they will respond to incompatibilities of their products under OS/2, I'm not going to purchase any of their products in the future. I'm hoping that several million other OS/2 users will also do the same. I am very uncomfortable with MS controlling the OS and the applications, then purposefully sabatoging their applications when users run them on non-MS platforms. Who needs that headache? (I have no intention of going to the Dark Side and converting to Windows, until and unless their are no alternatives. And if their are no alternatives, the FTC will probably be real interested in the situation again). Bob. Intuit is Dead. Long Live Intuit!
