Welcome Alvaro! If the paintings are almost invisible to cameras and videos, how can you tell what they look like? Are they accessible or are they deep in a cave? Is there a texture or bumpiness to them that you want to recreate? Do you want to recreate the surrounding area too (cave, rock wall, whatever)? If you just want to make the paintings easier for others to "see," you probably don't need a 3-D program. You would just need a 2-D paint program. You could then "paint over" the images to give them more contrast and color, etc. 2-D programs are a lot cheaper too. If you do want to model the actual site, or give the paintings a more convincing texture, then 3D Studio is probably for you!
