Brandon: /__________From your message___________\\ I mean't 'why can't the architect see the usefulness' too. __________________________________________ Now we're going to get into the politics and inner workings of the architectural mind. I think most architects have little problem grasping the potential and usefulness of 3D computer work. What we have, though, is a difficult time giving up even the smallest piece of the design process to someone else let alone an outsider. Egos, the concept of project and design "ownership" are some of the reasons for this. Architects love to do it all, soup to nuts. If an architect gives up part of the process to someone else it is usually his/her least favorite part. Most jettison the working drawings and the specifications to the more technically versed. Most will cling to any part of the schematic or design development phases, the fun stuff. To let someone else do the high profile documentation which is used to communicate the design intent is not what most architects would desire although hand renderers and model makers have been continuously employed. The more services which can eminate from within the office the more money the office can make.
