There's just too much potential out there,IMHO, to just give up on the local architectural community. By potential, I don't mean financial, as in 'for me'. What I mean is, I grew up around drafting offices, worked for an architect straight out of high school, and my whole family is in one way or another involved in the construction industry, and I still think computer generated visualization is a tool that can revolutionize the way buildings are designed, or in the very least, add a new valuable tool to the architect's arsenal.
