> I missed Chicago. I'm still kicking myself. But Chicago is way up there in the North. They tell me it gets real cold and windy. < SIGGRAPH 92 @ Chicago was my first exposure to the grand event. It was well known among my friends and family that animation was my gig. A good friend of mine had heard about Siggraph and encouraged me to attend. I was really lost the first time. I was oblivious to what was going on and was lucky that I made it to the electronic theatre. At S93 in Anaheim, I caught on to more of the action, but still missed out on most of the 3DS specific events. But this year, at Orlando, I didn't miss out on anything. The ASOFT gathering at Finns (was that the name?) was a blast. It was my first chance to meet a most of the folks on ASOFT (and to see an actual Yost Hawian T). After that, Greg Pyros, Wade Shumaker, and Myself went over to Pleasure Island where we eventually met back with most of the crew from Finns. Oh, and there was that late night gathering at "Howlin' at the Moon" after the big Autodesk party! (You don't wanna know). Wow, one awesome party after another — and 3DS was the glue that bound it all together! You are right. The family just keeps getting bigger! It was really an energetic boost to meet all the folks that "make it happen" face to face. It keeps me going: knowing that there is an element of people with whom I share a common vision.
