IMHO the architect is a dying breed. Unless the AIA gets more regulations which require architects and their work, they are going to die out replaced by creative engineers. Don't get me wrong! I think architects are a needed, but if they don't make themselves needed by law, they will be bypassed to save money. 90 percent of the buldings built now days are built mainly governed by codes not good design. You can ask any architect that is working and he will tell you he would love a client to actually pay him to spend a lot of time designing a building like he did when he was in college. But most clients don't see the design phase as being that important. They just want their square footage. I think most architects know deep down I am correct. I only hope that the proffesion can change how things are done. It is a great art. How does this relate to animation, it helps to understand why most architects hate to do anything fun out of house.
