Hi Kyle
"I've got a STB Pegasus 4MB VLB video card, and when I have the Mat Editor
display set for 640×480 at 24bit, it seems to like to redraw its menus in
strange places…"
Vibrant's STB Pegasus works properly with 1.0.5 version of the Vibrant
drivers (those shipping with 3DS4; the same one that is called
VIB3DS.ZIP here). Perhaps there is something interfering – a
software driver or TSR, or something in the hardware. For hardware,
we usually try disabling any special features, like cache, turbo
mode, until the problem goes away.
One thing Vibrant suggested: if your revision of the board is
different from theirs, you could get different results. If you can't
resolve the problem, let me know the chip information about your
board, BIOS revision, etc., Anything that might cause your board to
be different from the Vibrant's Pegasus board.
Good luck.
P.S. Did you catch this note: 10/31/94 Craig Neubauer, 71041,1727
I find that running the mat- editor in 800×600 24bit works ok. I'd
be curious as to why different resolutions and number of colors
causes things to show up in different spots and not erased.
