I have had a similar experience but I didn't share it as I thought it had more to do with Pathworks and OpenVMS than anything PAR related. Anyway, can you confirm that your .ani files when copied back to the PAR drive all play for the same duration (for me 0-127 frames were good, frame #128 was the first of the frazzled frames)? I had five different segments and all went bad on the exact same frame. I had copied my files from the PAR to a DEC Alpha via Pathworks' NFT 'copy' command. Reading up I found that I needed to put in the /block qualifier to allow longer records to be transfered. Were you copying your files back and forth with DOS commands? There may be some qualifier which you may need to use as I required. Gus would be the guy to talk to I suspect.
