Matt, I've been having the worst time in years at my PC trying to get Quicktime movies running. You know about the problem I had with the Apple version. I tried Eview.exe from the EDRIVE forum (see my message to Tim Hitchings; it runs but won't recognize movies as movies, saying "Unable to run movie– most QT videos end in .mov" – of course the files I was trying DID end in .mov) with no luck. Maybe because I had to manually expand the files after SETUP failed to run? Then I tried VIDVUE, the new version that supposedly handles QT, and when I got it unzipped and tried to run SETUP, it asked me if I was registered or shareware, to which directory to install the files, and when I told it and clicked "continue" it said "setup failed- Illegal function call– Run Setup at a later time". As you say, Y I K E S ! ! ! What's going on??? I am a reasonably adept user, got Mosaic, Netscape and Cello running on my 486-box including all of the MPEG and JPEG and WAV accessories, but darn it, Quicktime has defeated me. Any ideas? Best regards, Leon Malinofsky
