Bob,
Interestingly there are now a couple of shell programs for the Macs, at
least two shareware and 1 commercial. All three implement a unix style shell.
I've only played with the two shareware shells and neither are up to WSHell on
the Amiga, but at least the concept of a CLI on a Mac is alive, barely.
I'm using a Mac PowerPC 6100 which seems pretty potent and certainly as
fast as my 3000T/040 was. With "native" software it screams past an '040,
especially graphics. Now, if the Mac could only multi-task like the Amiga ….
Of course neither can windows 3.1.
I've used OS/2 2.1 and it would surely be interesting to see it ported
to the PPC. Hope they make a Mac PPC version.
