I think I would just make simple… all in Direction using the Channels for all
movements.
Put the bowl on a simple straight spline, linear movement, rotation using the
"s" button on Figure Channel — Draw a straight line with 2 points going from
the left top corner to right bottom corer of the channel area, and check the
animation for the speed preview. (If you want to be exact, calculate the
distance the bowl will travel divide it by the bowl's circumference, times 360
deg. This will give you the total degree rotations to set in channel that will
eqal the length the bowl will travel)… Make sure bowl's pivot is perfectly
centered… You can also make the bowl rotate some small amount sideways by
playing with the "r" or "t" values (a small fraction of the "s" rotation)…
This will take care of the bowl.
Similar spline movement (more complex, with multiple points), speed and
rotation (all "s" "r" and "t") tricks you can do to your pins. Again the
pivot's location should be their center of gravity.
In my opinion the channels are the only way to go and their rotation controls
are more flexible than in Action for what you want to do…
