I might be partial for TrueSpace, being their beta tester and all that… but I
would say that TrueSpace should fill the gaps left by A:M in this area pretty
well…
Working with materials is a pure joy in TrueSpace. Not only you have your
sphere 3D preview that even takes into account the lighting but it also has a
great decaling and 3d painting…
As for the 3D logo business, I think it should serve youe pretty well… You
can extrude and bevel any TrueType characters or import stuff in DXF format
(Both Corel and A:M generated DXF files work fine.) If you need to do something
to the logos created in Corel, saving them as TrueType character is the best
shot. (DXF doesn't support holes).
I do have to warn you though, that some bugs are still there and it will crash
on you or misbehave every now and then — It is version 1 after all…
