Jim,
I was the one who suggested using Premeire. A lot of my concerns about 3rd
party effects center around the fact that I know people who will shell out the
cash for 3D Studio just because it is more well known and has many more
features. I am waiting to see what changes are available in AM 3.0. In a lot of
ways, AM is a step or three ahead of other 3D applications, but it is also
lacking in some areas, mostly in the SCULPTURE module. I am taking a serious
look at moving to Real 3D for Windows. It is about $1,300 and offers quite a
bit. As more and more people realize that doing 3D animation is becoming less
and less expensive, they are going to want to buy applications that can do what
they see on TV and the movies. I would like to see AM users flood the Highway
with top notch images and animations to get peoples attention. The more product
Hash can sell, then the more features they can add. I'm going to do my part to
support them all I can, but I will have to make any application choices based
on what I need and who can provide it.
