Actually I am stationed in Mannheim, about 2 hours north of Stuttgart.
Stuttgart is now just a shadow of what it once was. Really Germany is long
gone. I too was stationed here from 79-83, at Illesheim (Ansbach). Sometimes
peace can bring sadness. Do you remember a BC named the Morning Mouth "Get Up
You Little Sleepyhead." I loved to hate that guy.
