#Welcome
Nick,
I'm very excited to see you on CIS finally. Now I can bug you even more <g>.
Actually I've been using 3D Studio more and more, but after I got the 3.1
update of Renderize a gave it another whirl. Much better! No more
finger-crossing. Ya know, there's even a few things Renderize does that 3DS
doesn't. I still love the product, even though there's been times I've felt
like pulling my hair out.
Three comments:
1. Recently, I did something to my system that has made using a 100 MB swap
file unbearable. I reinstalled Windows 3.1, and DOS 6.0 and the problem did
not go away… Symptoms are sluggish cursor movement while the disk is
churning. I've tried switching 32-bit disk access, moving the swap file to my
boot drive, and cursing. The only thing that will make it go away is changing
the size of the swap file to 50 MB. I have the PageOverCommit @ 20 and have
tested it with your recommended system files. Any ideas?
2. I've searched high and low for a good architectural modeller that will
provided adequate detailing without sacrificing flexibility. I know VS has a
modeller with the VR package, but I'm not sure if it's robust enough? I've
seen some great interior renderings on some of your brochures, any secrets on
how or who did them?
3. Did you get to go to Siggraph? I stopped by your booth and saw your celeb.
employee giving a demo, so I didn't get a chance to introduce myself… I'm a
huge B.B. fan. I hope Mr. Knight stops by the forum occasionally.
